Where does Clemson Go From Here?

The Atlantic Coast Conference has announced the kickoff times and television designations for Week 4.

Headlining Week 4 is a showdown between the Florida State Seminoles and Clemson Tigers. Whichever team captures victory in that game looked they would be the favorite in the ACC coming into the season, before Clemson’s loss to Duke.

Nevertheless, it’ll be a fantastic showdown, with the Tigers welcoming the Seminoles to Death Valley. Here’s the kickoff time and television designation for that one, and the rest of the ACC in Week 4.

Dabo Swinney doubles down on statement about Clemson’s Week 1 performance

Meanwhile, Dabo Swinney and Clemson got back on track Saturday following Monday night’s season opening loss to Duke. The Tigers returned home and rolled past Charleston Southern for a 66-17 win which was a breath of fresh air after their offensive struggles in Week 1.

Clemson scored just seven points against the Blue Devils and committed three turnovers. Swinney said after that game that he thought his offense didn’t play as bad as it looked on the surface, as it still totaled 200 yards rushing and outgained Duke in total yardage. He argued that the turnovers were the main issue, as Clemson managed only one touchdown.

Speaking postgame after Saturday’s win, he doubled down on those comments.

“Thankfully we won this one,” he began. “I know y’all didn’t like my comment the other day. I’ll take 200-plus every game and I’ll take those odds without the turnovers. I think that’s about 1,800 times that’s happened since 2014 and that team’s won 98% of the time. We found the 2% anomaly. We figured out how to do that. But I’m super excited. These guys are confident. (Offensive coordinator) Garrett (Riley)’s got a good feel for what we’re doing and it’s been a blast.”

Time and time again, Clemson failed to convert in the big moments of Monday’s loss, twice turning it over on downs in addition to the turnovers. It found no trouble on Saturday against Charleston Southern, however, scoring 42 points in the second half as Cade Klubnik finished the game with 315 yards passing, four touchdowns and an interception.

Although the opponent likely had something to do with it, Dabo Swinney believes it shows what Clemson is capable of moving forward. He saw flashes of that against Duke, but ultimately the Tigers weren’t able to put it together and win.
