The ACC Network is ramping up its coverage for the 2023 college football season. ACC Huddle and ACC PM will be on the road every week, traveling around to some of the top games in the conference.

The ACC Network announced plans to travel all year at the 2023 ACC Football Kickoff Event on Tuesday.

“For the first time ever this year we will be taking ACC Huddle and ACC PM on the road every single weekend for the college football season – 37 days away from that very first weekend, Labor Day weekend, and we are pumped about it,” ACC Network host Kelsey Riggs said.

“They’ll be there on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the college football season every single week for the first time. Just an opportunity to highlight football and grow football and all the teams in this conference.”

The first three weekends for the traveling shows are set as the ACC Network will be at Virginia Tech for Week 1, Florida State for Week 2 and Clemson for Week 3.

Virginia Tech will host Old Dominion Week 1, with Florida State hosting Southern Miss for Week 2. Clemson will host Florida Atlantic when the ACC Network is in town.

“We’re going to kick off our trip with Virginia Tech. It is our primetime game. There’s nothing like Lane Stadium when that enter Sandman gets rocking, and that will be Old Dominion for the very first weekend of the college football season,” Riggs said. “It’s not just a pregame or a postgame, it’s all day long. It’s morning, Noon, night, all throughout the day.”

According to an ESPN spokesperson, “the plan is for ACC Huddle’s main set to be inside the stadium with a secondary set in a tailgate area that captures the on-campus fan atmosphere. That tailgate set will also be used for Friday afternoon’s traveling ACC PM show.”

Mark Packer of ACC Network jokes about Vanderbilt, SEC media

ACC Network analyst Mark Packer, who will be a part of the coverage on gamedays this season, also spoke as the ACC Kickoff Event got underway on Tuesday.

Packer joked about SEC Media Days, which were held last week. At SEC Media Days, five credentialed media members picked Vanderbilt to win the league.

“I would like to ask the esteemed media here, I would like to know if any of you actually voted for Vanderbilt last week at SEC Media Days, because if you did you need to be escorted out immediately,” Packer said. “This is a real media congregation for the next three days.”

Packer echoed Paul Finebaum of the SEC Network, who said that voters who picked Vanderbilt to win the SEC should lose their credentials.

“We look forward to being on the road. We look forward to meeting with all the coaches and players, just like you guys do. … We look forward to being on the road and talking a little ACC football, a little southern fried football,” Packer said. “So again, if you’re voting Vandy like you did last week, get your mind right for the next three days.”
