Patrick Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain during the Kansas City Chief’s 27-20 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Divisional round, MRI results reveal, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter.

He plans to play in the AFC Championship next Sunday, per another of Schefter’s sources.

Mahomes left Saturday’s game in the first half after injuring his ankle. He was visibly frustrated before being taken back to the locker room for an x-ray that would eventually come back negative. He would start the second half — albeit with a heavily taped ankle — and finish the game for Kansas City with 22 completions for 195 yards and two touchdowns.

The Chiefs will play the winner of the Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills divisional round game next Sunday.

LOOK: Philadelphia Eagles troll Eli Manning after trouncing Giants, 38-7, in NFC divisional playoffs

From catching a stray from his own nephew — not the one currently enrolled at Texas — to having the Lincoln Financial Field crowd of crazed Philadelphia Eagles fans boo and flip birds at him, Eli Manning was the butt of more than a few jokes on Saturday night. And the Eagles own social media account busted out yet another.

After the Eagles laid waste to the New York Giants, 38-7, it was time for a celebratory victory tweet. But what’s better than celebrating a victory over a rival in the playoffs?

Getting to mock a legend of that franchise in the process. If the others were strays, this is a firing squad.

The image, if you’re unfamiliar, comes from the first season of Eli and Peyton Manning hosting the “Manningcast” alternate feed of “Monday Night Football.” Unaware that he was on camera at the moment, Manning was broadcast on ESPN flipping a double bird.

And the three Ls represent the three losses the Eagles handed the Giants this season.
