Rock Hill, South Carolina – The Adidas brand is holding its championships this weekend, as the teams on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit are gathered with one goal in mind, taking home the crown. It is also an NCAA Live Evaluation period with college coaches able to sit courtside and watch.

On3 was among other pre-approved media, the coaches, and NBA Scouts to watch the talent.

Let’s discuss the top performers that I saw on Friday at the Adidas 3SSB Championships.

On3 MVP: Four-star SG VJ Edgecombe

There was not much that VJ Edgecombe did not show for his Austin Rivers SE Elite club. The explosive, 6-foot-4 guard plays with great pace, and his patience is unique for a player with his explosive athleticism.

He showed off explosive athleticism as well, getting downhill into the paint and finishing high above the rim with authority. Edgecombe has good size, and he has nice length. You can see some defensive upside there, especially once you notice the competitiveness he plays with. He knocked down threes today and hit a two-dribble pull-up going to his left.

There is a winning nature to Edgecombe’s game. He recently bumped up to No. 13 in the 2024 One 150

2. Four-star SF Micah Robinson

A switch flipped with Micah Robinson around February, and he has been a different type of player since. The 6-foot-6 small forward has aggressively scored the ball here, using straight-line drives to the rim and knocking down jump shots.

Robinson is a sturdily built wing with good length and broad shoulders. He is a capable scorer in the half-court, creating offense off the bounce. He got all the way to the rim and showed a nice pull-up jump shot to his right side. You like the defensive versatility, he has good length, quickness, and a strong frame.

He is the No. 66 player in the updated 2024 On3 150. He finished with 24 points, including the game-winner at the rim as time expired.

3. SG Braylon Mullins (2025)

This was my first viewing of Braylon Mullins, and the 6-foot-4 shooting guard was lights out. I shifted my schedule to get a second viewing of him, and he did the same thing.

Mullins is a class of 2025 player at Greenfield (IN) Greenfield-Central High. His thing is his shooting, and he did it at a high level. I really liked his ability to move off the ball, find open spaces in the defense, and get his footwork and balance right in line for the shot. He showed some nice stuff passing the ball and was able to attack closeouts in straight lines. He will need to continue getting better in that aspect, but he did a lot to show he is more than a spot-shooter.

Toledo and Indiana State are among the schools that have offered. It would not be surprising to see his recruitment take an uptick.

Other standouts

Four-star C Malachi Moreno (Indy Elite 16s) is one of the more physically impressive bigs in the class. The mobility really sticks out with him, but he also has a frame that looks like he can put on good weight, and he has some toughness around the basket. The shot-blocking/altering is consistent, as is the rebounding.

Four-star SF Nate Ament (Team Loaded NC 16s) has a great frame, very projectable with great length. The unique aspect of his game is his ball skills. He is confident handling the ball as a primary initiator. He delivers good passes and can knock down threes off the bounce or the catch. You like the upside here.

Three-star SF Colt Langdon (Team Loaded VA 16s) plays with so much physical toughness. The 6-foot-6 wing is a high IQ player, he can dissect a play and make a read or knock down a jump shot from multiple levels. There is a grit factor with him as well.

Four-star C Moustapha Thiam (Austin Rivers SE Elite) is playing on instincts, but those instincts are high-level. He had patience on the block, going over his left shoulder. He also snagged a few traffic rebounds and defended the paint well. You like the upside of the 2025 center.

Four-star SG Isiah Harwell (Utah Prospects) is a tough-minded defender, and that is where the intrigue starts. The class of 2025 guard sits down on the ball, and, at 6-foot-5, he can slide his feet for the length of the floor. He is a good shooter, can knock down spot threes, and is a willing passer, as the ball never sticks.

Five-star PF Koa Peat (Compton Magic) is so physically impressive, with a strong frame and great length. You like the confidence he has on the ball, able to initiate from multiple levels on the floor, and you like his area rebounding. The class of 2025 forward is filled with winning plays.

Three-star C Brandon Crawford (Upward Stars SE) just bleeds upside. He is raw, but his defensive instincts, you simply cannot teach. One of the circuit’s best natural shot blockers; his timing, length, and pop make him a menace around the basket.

Three-star F Brody Kozlowski (Utah Prospects) is a guy who simply makes the right play. The 6-foot-7 forward understands positioning on both ends of the floor and does not do anything he cannot do. Smooth shooter and a nice area rebounder.

Three-star PF Ayden Evans (Midwest Basketball) has a lot of intriguing physical traits with his length, explosive pop, and mobility. He stepped out and knocked down a three in this one, and the form looked good. He finished above the rim around the basket.

Four-star PF Nic Codie (Southern Assault) is still coming into his own as a player, but man, it is hard to ignore the upside. Standing 6-foot-7/6-foot-8 with a 7-foot-2 wing span, Codie has touch that extends beyond the three-point arc, but his touch from 15 feet and in is where his bread is buttered. You like the defensive upside too.

SG Cameron Carroll (Southern Assault 16s) shot the ball very well. He has long arms with a quick release, and he played with good balance and confidence.

Four-star PG Eli Ellis (Team Loaded NC) plays with such toughness. He is a physical guard who plays with an edge. He can shoot with deep range and has a crafty way of creating his own shot.

Four-star SF Rob Dockery (Team Loaded VA) has a great frame, which makes his skill set very interesting. The Texas A&M commitment is at his best when he has the ball in his hands and is looking to facilitate. He has a natural basketball sense that produces results.
