Andrew Crawford earned Colorado All-State honors after putting up 19.7 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 6.3 assists for Highlands Ranch (CO) ThunderRidge High this season.

“I’m a big guard who can play make and shoot a little bit,” Crawford told On3. “I like to get downhill and finish with big dunks, get to the free throw line. My shot has improved greatly over the last few months; now, it’s a weapon that opens up my game more. I watch some of Ben Simmons. Obviously, I want a better jump shot than him, but he is that big guard that likes to create.”

Crawford has turned heads this April on the Under Armour Next Circuit, averaging 12.3 points and 3.4 assists, and 1.2 steals on 40.0 percent from three with the KC Run GMC program.

On3 caught up with Andrew Crawford after a recent live viewing to get updated on his recruitment.

Crawford talks official visit

“So far, I’ve only been on one official visit to Colorado,” Crawford said.

Colorado: “Their strength program is amazing. Steve (Englehart) up there works his tail off with the players and gets them right for sure, and that is definitely appealing to me. Derrick White and Spencer Dinwiddie are both bigger guards who developed there. They have expressed they want me in that role.”

“I’m looking to take visits to Oregon and Colorado State later this summer,” Crawford said.

Oregon: “They just offered me recently, so everything with them is kind of new. I definitely want to go up there on an official visit to find out what all they’re about. It’s Oregon, it’s a huge name, and you got Nike and everything. I mean, it’s Oregon, and I want to go and see it.”

Colorado State: “All their coaches are super nice and super open to campus life and the student body. They embrace CSU, the school, and the culture a lot. That really stood out to me when I was down there.”

Creighton and Stanford have both been in contact some recently,” Crawford said. “I wouldn’t mind hearing more from both of them.”

In his words

“I’m not expecting to play my freshman year, Crawford said. “If it works out that I can, that is great, but I’m focused on getting stronger and continue developing my game. I plan to be at college all four years unless something happens NBA-wise, so continuing to get better will be huge for me.

“I really like a team that pushes the ball and gets up and down really quickly. I’ll also want to play for a coach that puts the ball in his guard’s hands when crunch time comes around. Staying close to home isn’t really big for me or my family, so I’m open.”
