Anthony Thompson jumped to No. 57 in the recent 2026 On3 150 ranking update. The 6-foot-7 forward has averaged close to 15.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks this season for Lebanon (OH) High School this season.

“I would say my game is very versatile. I feel I can do whatever is asked of me on the court,” Thompson told On3. “My best attributes are probably my shooting ability and my rebounding. I’ve always been a huge KD (Kevin Durant) guy, and I’ve always watched any film of him that I can. More recently, I have watched a lot of Jayson Tatum and tried to use his ways of creating space on his moves and add that to my game.”

On3 was able to catch up with four-star Anthony Thompson recently to get the latest update on his recruitment.

“Right now I have offers from Xavier, Texas, Cincinnati, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio State, Ohio, Kent State, and Eastern Kentucky,” Thompson said. “I’ve taken visits to all of them but Texas.”

Thompson Talks Schools

OHIO STATE: “The entire basketball program is very professional, and the facilities are top tier. My favorite part of the campus is the atmosphere. It all runs around sports, and it is clearly the largest part of what happens there.”

INDIANA: “Indiana is a great basketball school, and all the fans show it at Assembly Hall. I think that they play really controlled on offense. I can fit in with that by being able to do lots of things while playing on the wing and creating opportunities on both sides of the court.”

ILLINOIS: “They have a great program from the coaches to the players. When I visited my favorite part was their facilities and all they had to offer for the guys.”

XAVIER: “I know that Coach (Sean) Miller is a high-level coach with a lot of experience. He has coached a lot of pro guys. I’d say my favorite part of the visit was my interaction with all of the coaches.”

TEXAS: “Texas is always a winning program and has professional alumni in the league.”

In Anthony Thompson’s Words

“My dad played D2 basketball at Wheeling University,” Thompson said.

“I want to go to a school that allows me to develop into a great player to be able to play professionally. And a place where I can be comfortable around coaching staff and players. I’d say I’m most comfortable playing fast and in transition, but also just a controlled offense that is able to score off whatever the defense gives.”
