The AP All-American college basketball teams for the 2023-24 season have been released ahead of the start of the NCAA Tournament Tuesday night.

The list is led by Purdue star Zach Edey, who is a unanimous selection. Edey topped all 62 ballots, earning unanimous first-team honors for the second consecutive year.

Edey was joined on the first team by Tennessee star Dalton Knecht, North Carolina guard RJ Davis, Houston standout Jamal Shead and Connecticut leading scorer Tristen Newton.

All four No. 1 seeds for the NCAA Tournament in UConn, Houston, Purdue and North Carolina have a representative on the first-team All-American team, as does No. 2 seed Tennessee.

Zach Edey leads the nation in points per game at 24.4 and is third in rebounds per game at 11.7. He is also third nationally in double-doubles with 24 across 33 games.

Dalton Knecht is averaging 21.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game, while shooting nearly 40 percent from 3-point range.

RJ Davis is averaging 21.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. He is the leader of a UNC team that won the ACC regular season and advanced to the ACC Tournament championship game.

Jamal Shead is averaging 13.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game for a Houston squad that is 30-4 heading into the Big Dance.

Tristen Newton is averaging 15.2 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for a UConn team that is the No. 1 overall seed and the favorite to win the national title.

The AP also released its honorable mention All-Americans. Among the players included on the list are Antonio Reeves of Kentucky, Kevin McCullar Jr. of Kansas, Devin Carter of Providence and Armanda Bacot of North Carolina.

The selections were made off of what happened during the college basketball regular season. Up next is March Madness, after Selection Sunday was held over the weekend.

The NCAA Tournament gets underway with play-in games on Tuesday and Wednesday. The first round of the NCAA Tournament begins on Thursday.
