The early betting line for the Big 12 Championship has been set, as TCU enters as a 2.5-point favorite against Kansas State, according to Vegas Insider. The Horned Frogs finished the season with an unblemished 12-0 record and can punch their ticket to the College Football Playoff with a victory against the Wildcats.

TCU handled business against Iowa State on Saturday, handing the Cyclones a 62-14 loss to maintain its undefeated season. Kansas State then clinched its spot in the conference title game with an 47-27 victory against rival Kansas to close the season.

K-State never trailed in that game, jumping out to a 23-7 lead by the end of the first quarter. The Wildcats did most of their damage on the ground, totaling 230 yards rushing and four touchdowns on 42 carries.

TCU has had several close calls this season, with eight of their 12 victories coming by 10 points or less. That includes a 29-28 victory against Baylor in Week 12 that the Horned Frogs won on a last-second field goal. However, Saturday’s win against the Cyclones was the biggest margin of victory for TCU all season, sending a statement to the rest of the country.

Big 12 Championship Game info

TCU finishes the regular season as one of just three undefeated teams along with Michigan and Georgia. If they finish as Big 12 champions to remain unbeaten, there is no doubt that the Horned Frogs will be one of the four teams in the CFP.

As for Kansas State, the Wildcats seem likely to represent the Big 12 in the Sugar Bowl whether they win or lose. The conference champion from the Big 12 receives an automatic bid to that game, unless they are selected to participate in the Playoff.

In the regular season meeting between Kansas State and TCU, the Horned Frogs scored 28 unanswered points to end the game and come back from 18 down to win 38-28. Quarterback Max Duggan threw for three touchdowns, while running back Kendre Miller had 153 yards and two scores.

The 2022 Big 12 Championship Game will kick off at 11 a.m. CT on Dec. 3 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The contest will be nationally televised by ABC.
