Brandon Inniss, No. 2 junior WR, decommits from Oklahoma
Four-star wide receiver Brandon Inniss of Miami Gardens (Fla.) American Heritage decommitted from Oklahoma on Sunday.
The decommitment from Inniss comes hours after reports surfaced that Sooners head coach Lincoln Riley was set to be announced as USC‘s next head coach.
“I am grateful for all that God has blessed me with,” Inniss said. “After a long talk with my family, I have decided to decommit from the University of Oklahoma, and open up my recruitment to all schools.”
The 6 foot, 190-pound four-star wide receiver committed to the Sooners on Aug. 22. Inniss chose Oklahoma over Alabama, Florida, Ohio State and Miami.
Brandon Inniss ranks as the No. 21 player in the On3 Consensus. He comes in as the second-ranked wide receiver and the No. 4 player in Florida.
With the departure of Inniss, Oklahoma now holds six commits in the 2023 class. It will be interesting to see if more follow in the coming days, weeks, or months.
On3’s Senior Recruiting Editor Jeremy Crabtree wrote about the impact that Riley leaving for USC will have on the national recruiting front. And this decommitment appears to be the first decommitment of what could turn into a wave of negative news for the Sooners.

Inniss uses quickness and route-running savvy to create separation. He’s also a tough runner after the catch with the ability to break tackles.”
