Plano (Texas) Prestonwood Christian three-star cornerback Carter Stoutmire has decommitted from Arizona, announcing the news Sunday.

“I want to thank God for blessing me with the ability to play football,” Stoutmire said on social media. “I don’t take for granted all of the coaches, mentors, family and friends that have supported me along the way. As a student-athlete for most of my life, I pride myself on hard work, sacrifice, and dedication. Therefore, as I continue to follow my dreams and develop as a person and a player, taking my talent to the collegiate level is not a decision that I take lightly. Thus, after much prayer and many conversations with my family, I have chosen to rescind my commitment to the University of Arizona. I am forever grateful to Coach Fisch, Coach Walker, and the rest of the coaching staff at the University of Arizona for believing in me and providing me with an opportunity to play college football in Tucson. Though this was tough, I’m excited about the next chapter and I’m looking forward to a bright future.”

Stoutmire is the No. 858 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $5.9k. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
