Chase Ross, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard out of Dallas (Texas) Cushing Academy has committed to Marquette basketball for the class of 2022, he tells On3.

Ross is the Golden Eagles’ second commitment of the class, following point guard Sean Jones.

Ross ultimately chose Marquette over Georgia, Rutgers, and Texas A&M. He also received offers from Arizona State, Mississippi State, Virginia Tech, among others.

Chase Ross on why he chose Marquette

“I have a great relationship with the coaching staff,” Ross said. “They all recruited me, from the assistant coach to the Director of Operations. They all pitched in and when I went on my visit, it all got even better. It felt like home. It felt like family. That visit really helped me decide on my decision.”

How would Ross describe his game?

“I’m a two-way player. I can get to the hole with ease, and shoot the ball well. Also, I can get back on defense and guard whoever and stop them.”

What are Ross’ personal expectations for his freshman year?

“My first year I’ll probably be a role player that can make an immediate impact, get on the floor, and guard 1-3. Also, get points on the wing.”

What’s Ross most looking forward to?

“Just the atmosphere. It’s a basketball school. I’m happy to be able to see people on campus and get to know people.”
