Woodstock (Ill.) Marian Central Catholic four-star tight end Christian Bentancur announced his top three schools on Monday. They are Clemson, Ohio State and Oregon.

Bentancur is the No. 96 overall prospect and No. 4 tight end in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 3 player in Illinois.

The 6-foot-5, 235-pound prospect visited all three of his finalists this season. The trips came on Sept. 3 (Ohio State), Nov. 12 (Clemson) and Nov. 19 (Oregon).

Bentancur also visited Oregon in June. He spoke with Dominiqk Peterson of Scoop Duck about the trip.

“The people at Oregon are amazing, and it really impressed me,” Bentancur said. “I had long conversations with the coaches, and I loved the weather while I was there.

“I loved the photo shoot at Oregon because they have an unlimited amount of uniforms to put on and get fly with.”

During the trip, Bentancur spoke with Ducks tight ends coach Drew Mehringer.

“We had a four-hour conversation. and I love how smooth the conversation went between us on a broad range of topics,” he said. “It didn’t feel like I was talking to a coach.”

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Buckeyes have a very close lead for Bentancur’s commitment at 15.7%. He also unofficially visited Columbus on June 15.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Bentancur has an On3 NIL Valuation of $63K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
