Each of the last two recruiting cycles have seen Deion Sanders and the Colorado coaching staff land commitments from IMG Academy, the illustrious Florida high school football program.

The 2024 cycle saw Five-Star Plus+ offensive tackle Jordan Seaton ink with the Buffaloes. Colorado’s 2025 class featured IMG four-star EDGE London Merritt and three-star EDGE Alexander McPherson. Some Ascenders in the 2026 cycle are also considering CU.

This weekend, both four-star EDGE Jake Kreul and four-star interior offensive lineman Breck Kolojay made their way to Boulder for their official visit with the Big 12 program. The Buffs are firmly in the mix in both recruitments and had a chance to make a major in-person splash with the blue-chippers.

Kolojay hails from Littleton, Colo., making the 6-foot-5, 295-pounder an even bigger target. He’s also been to Oklahoma and has lined up official visits to Miami, Georgia, USC, Tennessee and Florida this summer.

“What excites me is seeing my former teammates excel in the program and the track CU is on is very exciting,” Kolojay previously told On3’s Steve Wiltfong. “Also the opportunity to come back home to Boulder which is 45 minutes away from my house is exciting. What makes them a potential fit is my already being around and having close relationships with the guys in the locker room, and also playing for Coach Prime.”

Kreul kicked off his OV schedule this weekend and will also log OVs to Ohio State, Florida, Texas and Oklahoma. The Orlando native just locked in his visit plans earlier this week. He is the No. 36 overall prospect in the nation.

Kolojay checks in as the No. 289 recruit and No. 23 IOL, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Both remain top targets for Colorado moving forward.

To date, CU has one commit in its 2026 class: Calabasas (Calif.) JUCO EDGE Domata Peko Jr., the son of new Buffs DL coach Domata Peko.

As has become custom during the Sanders tenure in Boulder, CU recruiting picked up some serious steam late in the 2025 cycle. The Buffaloes inked 14 high school prospects, putting together the nation’s No. 35 class, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

The biggest win came at the end of November when Carrollton (Ga.) four-star quarterback Julian Lewis flipped to the Buffs from USC. He closed as the No. 7 QB in the cycle and will compete for the starting job as a true freshman this fall.

Lewis was one of seven four-stars to sign with Colorado, along with the likes of four-star offensive tackle Carde Smith, Merritt, four-star wide receiver Quentin Gibson and four-star IOL Chauncey Gooden.
