Colorado enters the race for elite 2025 Notre Dame QB commit Deuce Knight

Colorado has been on the hunt for a quarterback to add to its 2025 recruiting class in recent months.
The Buffaloes previously held a commitment from four-star Antwann Hill Jr. out of Warner Robins (Ga.), but he had planned to reclassify to 2024 and ultimately decommitted from Deion Sanders and Co.
CU made a run at Five-Star Plus+ passer and No. 1 overall recruit Bryce Underwood, but he committed to LSU last month over the Buffs, Michigan and a number of others. Now they’re turning attention to other schools’ commit lists.
On Friday, the Buffaloes extended an offer to Notre Dame four-star quarterback commit Deuce Knight, the No. 29 overall prospect in the 2025 On300 rankings.
“Blessed to receive an offer from the University of Colorado Boulder!!” he wrote on Twitter.
The coveted passer out of Lucedale (Miss.) George County also ranks as the nation’s No. 5 quarterback and No. 2 player in his state.
Buffaloes not alone in trying to flip Knight
Colorado isn’t alone in its pursuit of Knight though, as Ole Miss remains in pursuit of him and Alabama’s new staff recently offered him.
New head coach Kalen DeBoer visited Knight at his school and offered him in person.
“It was cool having Coach DeBoer down here,” Knight told BlueandGold.com. “A lot of my teachers are big ‘Bama fans, so they got to meet him and take pictures. He’s a cool guy; he coached my brother [Ty Fryfogle] back in 2019, so I know him a bit.”

Knight committed to the Fighting Irish last September and recently returned to campus this past weekend. He was one of 11 Notre Dame commits who were in South Bend, and Knight’s main focus Saturday for junior day was recruiting the Irish’s top targets.
“We had a lot of fun, and we had lot of business time, too,” Knight told Blue & Gold. “It was a good time overall with my future coaches and teammates.”
Knight also got to spend time with new offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock, who came over from LSU this offseason.
“We talked a lot,” he said “Any time we were eating, Coach Denbrock would come and sit with me, and we chopped it up. We talked about life and some ball. He’s a pretty cool guy. He’s been at Notre Dame before, so he knows the culture and what people expect if you come to this program. It was good talking with him.”
