Colt Langdon is quickly trending as one of the southeast region’s best in the class of 2025. The 6-foot-7 wing averaged 20.8 points and 5.3 boards while shooting 41.7 percent from three for Raleigh (NC) Millbrook High. Langdon finished his sophomore season with 1,020 career points.

“My game is very versatile,” Langdon told On3. “I can score from any spot on the floor and guard multiple positions on defense. I’ve really improved my all-around game this season; I’m getting to my spots off the bounce and facilitating for my teammates. I watch a lot of Jayson Tatum; he’s my favorite player. I love how smooth he is and how he gets to his spots. Even though he isn’t the fastest player on the court, he knows how to score.”

On3 caught up with Colt Langdon after a recent live viewing to get a full update on his recruitment.

“I have ten offers, Illinois, Virginia Tech, LSU, Richmond, Ole Miss, and some more,” Langdon said. “Of those schools, I’ve been on visits to Illinois, LSU, and Virginia Tech.”

Langdon talks Illinois

“None of the schools can contact me directly yet, but we talk with Coach (Chester) Frazier almost weekly. I visited up there last weekend and saw their facilities are amazing. I love Coach Frazier; we really get along well and have a great bond. They play positionless basketball and have multiple guards on the floor at all times. I feel like that is a system I can easily fit right into.

“They love my versatility; I can play multiple spots on the floor, which fits in with how they play. They say that I’m a dog and have a winning pedigree, and they love that about my game.

“The atmosphere on my visit was crazy. The game was packed; you know it was a smaller arena, so they pack it out there all the time. The fans and the atmosphere were definitely amazing. The campus was beautiful too.”

Langdon talks LSU

Coach (Ronnie) Hamilton is the coach we’re in contact with the most there. They’re talking about how they’re looking to rebuild with the new coaching staff. They want to build a winning culture down there.

“I visited there in the Fall. What stood out for me was the passion they have down there and the love that everyone has for the college. We went to a football game against Mississippi State, and it was packed. It was definitely an awesome experience visiting LSU, and the coaching staff was great.

“I look forward to continuing to build a relationship with them and learning more about the program.”

Langdon talks Virginia Tech

“Me and Coach (Christian) Webster have a great relationship. They’re a great school and have a winning pedigree over the past couple of years. They shoot the ball a lot with how they play, which is something I’m really good at. I feel like their system fits my game really well.”

In his words

Virginia hasn’t offered yet, but they seem very interested,” Langdon said. “Coach (Kyle) Getter is the coach we talk with, and they don’t usually offer players until later. But they tell me I’m at the top of their recruiting board. We hear from NC State too, and a little bit from Georgia.”

“This summer, I’m looking forward to getting some exposure to more schools, and I’ll take more visits after the high school season.

“When I’m going on these visits, I will be looking for a family atmosphere where I feel like I can bond with the coaches and talk with them freely. I want to play for a school where I can develop my game to be the best player I can be.

“I’ll look at the system too. I want to play somewhere I’ll fit. So a system that gives players some freedom offensively, but one where they run stuff to get shooters open and is fast-paced and gets up and down and scores a lot of points.”

Colt Langdon’s dad, Mark Langdon, played football at Virginia from 1983-88.
