Colt Langdon jumped to No. 79 in the recent 2025 On3 150 ranking update. The 6-foot-7 wing at Raleigh (NC) Millbrook High has had a strong start to his junior season, averaging 27.0 points and 12.0 rebounds.

“I’m creating my own shot now, attacking off the dribble and finishing at the rim,” Langdon told On3. “I feel like I’m much better on defense now, able to guard multiple positions and rebound. My biggest goal this season is to win a state championship. If I go out and am the best player I can be and I lead my team and we win, all the other stuff will happen.”

On3 caught up with four-star Colt Langdon after he dropped 33 points at the Good Guys vs. Cancer event to talk recruiting.

“I haven’t taken any official visits yet, and I haven’t set any up yet,” Langdon said. “I have taken unofficial visits to Georgetown, Pittsburgh, Butler, LSU, and Notre Dame.”

Langdon Talks Visits

Georgetown: “The biggest thing for me, with them, is Coach (Ed) Cooley. He is a great person on and off the court, and he really cares about you. On the court, they’re going to play really hard. This year is a rebuilding year, but I am confident that he will build a great program in the future there.”

Notre Dame: “Coach (Micah) Shrewsberry loves my versatility and how I can play multiple positions. They have a great 2024 class coming in and he thinks I can be great in 2025. I learned how beautiful the campus was. They have great facilities. I also love the NBA touch that coach Shrewsberry brings into practice. They run a lot of read-and-react offense.”

Pittsburgh: “I love Coach (Jeff) Capel. He’s from Fayetteville, so grew up a North Carolina kid like me. He just talks about how similar I am to some of the players they have now. He says that I can do something like Carlton Carrington, but also like Blake Hinson; he feels like I fit well in their offense. And the year that I would come in, they have a lot of people leaving, so there is the opportunity for me to come in and play right away.”

Butler: “I talk with Thad Matta a good bit, but I also talk with Coach (Alex) Barlow. I probably talk to him more than any other coach; I like his NBA experience, being the head coach for the Maine Celtics. I love their program, they’re building it back and getting better every year. The culture they have up there stood out for me. Hinkle Fieldhouse is beautiful, super historic, and seeing their practice they all play really hard, positionless basketball.”

LSU: “I have a relationship with the whole staff. I talk with Coach (Ronnie) Hamilton, Coach (Casey) Long, and the head coach (Matt) McMahon there. Their communication is great. They see me being able to come in and be a shooter, a scorer. They have lacked shooting over the past couple of years, so they think I can help them with that.”

His Recruitment

“I’d like to get back to LSU soon,” Langdon said. “I also want to go see Virginia Tech and West Virginia.”

Virginia Tech: “I’m close with Coach (Christian) Webster, he was my first ACC offer, so we have been building that relationship for a long time. Their system likes to have big shooters on the wing, coming off screens to catch and make shots.

West Virginia: “I’ve built a good relationship with Coach (Demarco) Johnson. They’re building the program back, they’ve had some troubles this year, but they’re still winning games. I believe in Coach (Josh) Eilert, and I believe he is going to do good things there.

“I talk with Oregon a good big, and Alabama, too,” Langdon said. “Those are some schools that are staying in contact, so we’ll see what they do.”

Colt Langdon Breaks Down His Process

“I’ll probably start taking my official visits my senior year,” Langdon said.

“I’m looking for a place I can develop both on and off the court. I want to become a better man as well as the best basketball player I can be. My biggest thing on the court is winning. I want to come in and help the team win games. Playing time would be great, but I am really excited to see what the future holds.

“I feel like I can fit into a lot of different systems because I’m versatile, and my shooting. But, I like to play in an up-tempo style that scores a lot of points. I like a system that gives freedom to the players to attack the basket or shoot threes, and lets them go out and be special.”
