Clayton (N.C.) four-star defensive lineman Keshawn Stancil has taken his official visits, and will announce his commitment later this week.

On Wednesday, Stancil posted on Twitter that he will make his decision public on Saturday, June 28. He will choose between five finalists: NC State, Clemson, Penn State, Miami and Georgia.

Each program received an official visit over the past six weeks, and they’ll each be waiting to find out if they’re about to add one of the country’s top defensive linemen in the 2026 class. Stancil is the No. 144 overall prospect and No. 15 DL nationally, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3, however, is higher on him than the other services. In the most recent On300 rankings, he was tabbed as the nation’s No. 73 prospect, No. 9 defensive lineman and the No. 8 player in the state of North Carolina.

As one of the top players locally, NC State has been working hard to keep him home. But the Wolf Pack have a lot of competition from ACC competitors, as well as one each from the Big Ten and SEC. Miami in particular made a strong case to Stancil on his official visit earlier this month.

“I’ve been on two visits so far (with the other to Georgia), probably this is the best one and I really don’t think it’s going to change visit-wise – it’s Miami, man, good coaching, good culture, good way to live out here, can’t get better than that,” Stancil told CaneSport. “Every time I come out here the relationship gets stronger, stronger, stronger with the coaches and players. This weekend it was all of that plus 10. I really enjoy Miami a lot.”

Each of the other contenders will have had to overcome what he experienced in Coral Gables, but all have built strong connections with him over the past year. On his Clemson official visit the weekend of June 13, the 6-foot-3, 260-pounder was the lone recruit on campus for the Tigers, showing him just how much of a priority he is.

As a junior, Stancil was one of the state’s most dominant players, having posted 63 tackles, including 22 for a loss, with nine sacks in 12 games.
