The Dallas Cowboys have officially announced their coaching staff for the 2023 season.

It will be the fourth season with Mike McCarthy leading the charge as head coach. He is 30-20 over his first three seasons, including going 12-5 and making the playoffs the last two seasons.

The coaches list includes five new positional assistant/coordinators. They are offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, linebackers coach Scott McCurley, offensive line coach Mike Solari, quarterbacks coach Scott Tolzein and running backs coach Jeff Blasko.

Schottenheimer got promoted from being a coaching assistant for the Cowboys last season. He had previously been the offensive coordinator for the New York Jets from 2006-2011, the St. Louis Rams from 2012-2014 and the Seattle Seahawks from 2018-2020.

“I am very happy to have Brian take on this key role with our team. He has been an important part of our staff already and has a great grasp of where we are and where we want to go,” McCarthy said in a statement when the hire was announced earlier this month. “Brian also has an exceptionally strong foundation, history and relationships beyond his time here that translate very well into understanding what our approach to operating and executing will be for the future.

McCurley returns to the linebackers coaching role after being the coach in 2020 and 2021.

Defensive coordinator Dan Quinn returns after once again drawing interest as a head coach for the second straight cycle. The former Atlanta Falcons head coach will be in his third season on the staff.

Only two positional assistants will be with the team for the fourth straight season: special teams coordinator John Fassel and tight ends coach Lunda Wells.

The full Dallas Cowboys coaching staff announced has 26 names: 11 offensive coaches, 10 defensive coaches two special teams coaches, and three strength and conditional coaches
