Four-star defensive lineman and former Texas Signee D’antre Robinson of Orlando (FL) Jones High announced his commitment to Florida Friday afternoon.

The 6-foot-4, 305 pounder committed to the Longhorns in July, and recently was released from his LOI.

“Florida has been my dream school and some unexpected things happened at Texas so I just wanted to be closer with my family. It will be way easier for my family to come see me play and anything else they would like to do. I’m a momma’s boy and I’ll admit, being closer to ma dukes feels great. My big sister lives in Texas so I would’ve had some form of family there if I was still going. I am a family’s boy and being in my state feels so much better and I am very proud and happy with the decision I have made.”

The Sunshine State defensive lineman joins coach Billy Napier and the Gators’ top 20 2024 class. He is accompanied by five-star quarterback DJ Lagway, five-star defensive lineman LJ McCray, and others.

D’antre Robinson Recruiting Profile

Scouting Summary

On3’s Scouting and Rankings Team writes about him as a college recruit:

“Active interior defensive lineman with readymade size and the ability to disrupt. Measured in at 6-foot-3.5, 315 pounds prior to his senior season. Has solid length and a big frame with 33-inch arms and 10-inch hands. Has a wide, barrel-chested build. Added well over an inch in height over his junior season. An active defender on Friday nights, playing for one of the top high school programs in Central Florida. Strong at the point of attack. Uses his stout build to take on and defeat double teams. Capable of making plays outside the typical defensive lineman’s range of influence. Can fight within a phone booth. Isn’t always asked to pin his ears back, but makes plays when he does. A light-footed mover who is capable of explosive finishes in the backfield. Able to convert speed to power as a pass rusher.”

“Tallied 79 tackles, 10 sacks and 19 tackles for loss as a senior, showing encouraging improvement in his final prep campaign. Has the versatility to be an every down player along the defensive line and would bring good movement skills and athleticism as a nose tackle. Can continue improving his first-step quickness and constituency in his jump off the snap. Older for the cycle. May be closer to his physical and athletic upside than others with developmental body types, but presents a high floor.”

He currently does not have an On3 NIL Valuation publicly listed. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
