Four-star SF Drake Powell – UNC

Drake Powell is a high-level connector, a player who simply makes things around him run smoothly. What you take away with the 6-foot-6 wing is the defense. He is an excellent defender both on and off the ball. He has long arms, toughness, and he moves/anticipates very well.

You like the mid-range jumper with Powell. He gets into his shot well off the bounce, especially around the elbows. He is also a sneaky athlete, getting above the rim in transition. You want to see him shoot more consistently from three, and with more strength, he will finish better at the rim in traffic. Powell is a nice secondary ball handler, getting the ball to its spots and taking care of possessions. A player that elevates the play of those around him.

Four-star SF Isaiah Evans

The shot-making is the takeaway with Isaiah Evans. He is one of those players who is capable of really heating up in a hurry and putting numbers on the board. Evans has a great frame, long with legit 6-foot-6, maybe 6-foot-7 size. While he still needs to continue adding strength, you like the activity he shows on the defensive end.

Evans took a tough spill in the first half, undercut going for a rebound. It did not keep him out of the game; the toughness to stick it out was impressive. He finished with 15 points on three made threes.

Other standouts

*This was my first time watching 2026 Rivers Knight live. The 6-foot-8 forward carries a great frame with a smooth skill set. Knight shot the ball well off the catch, deep range. He pushed the break, rebounded well, and showed toughness.

*Four-star Bishop Boswell ended the high school season as strong as anyone, which culminated in winning a state championship. On Friday night, he showed some of that same toughness and paint-touch ability. The spacing was a little different, and he was not surrounded by the same shooting, but the talent was obvious.

*Eighth grader King Gibson played up at 15u with the Team United program. The 6-foot-4 wing has a great frame and showed some sneaky athleticism. The impressive part, he showed no fear. Earmark this name.

*Juke Harris is a shooter. He showed a smooth shooting stroke early and often for Team CP3. At 6-foot-6, he has great size for a shooting guard. The release is consistent, and the load and base is repeatable. The Wake Forest commitment is a solid team defender, getting in the passing lanes better than guarding the ball here. Everything he did on offense was catch-and-shoot.

*One college coach I was sitting with said, death, taxes, and a Maurio Hanson double-double. Hanson production is about as dependable as it comes. The lefty finished plays around the basket on both ends, ending with a double-double.

*Was hard to ignore what 6-foot-4 Jullien Cole did for Team Wall 17u. The junior guard averaged 17 points and shot 42 percent from three for Rockingham (NC) Richmond County this season. He knocked down four threes in the game and showed fluidity in transition getting to the basket.
