Elite offensive lineman Johnathan ‘Bo’ Hughley is following a feeling when it comes to his recruitment. The elite offensive tackle from the class of 2023 decided to cut his list of schools down to a top eight on Thursday.

The Langston Hughes offensive tackle held nearly 15 Power 5 offers prior to cutting announcing his top eight.

The list includes Georgia, Ole Miss, Florida State, Miami, Auburn, UCF and Georgia Tech. Hughley admits this group could change over the next year. He has hopes of hearing from a few other of the country’s elite in the coming months.

Clemson and Alabama are two schools that Hughley hopes to see in person. He hopes they begin showing more interest as the recruiting process goes along for him.

In the meantime, Hughley wanted to make the push to cut down the list because of a feeling that it was time to start really giving his focus to the schools that have been on him from the start.

“There’s something in me that’s telling me to go with the schools that’s really interested and that’s believing in me first,” Hughley said.

The connections with each of the schools helped narrow the list. The conversations are good, and Hughley gets the feeling of support from the coaches.

Hughley hasn’t seen all of the schools on his list in person. The junior hopes to see those schools in the fall and in the coming months. The virtual recruiting process helped build strong a strong personal relationships with the elite offensive tackle.

“We always have a great conversation,” Hughley said. “They always want to see me win.”

Elite offensive lineman Addison Nichols chops his list to top 3

Nichols’ recruitment is quickly coming to a close. The highly sought-after interior offensive lineman from Greater Atlanta Christian announced his top three schools on Wednesday afternoon.

North Carolina, Tennessee and Ohio State were the schools that are in the final list for Nichols’ services. As a result, the top three list eliminated Georgia, Florida, USC and Alabama among others from landing Nichols.

Nichols is looking for the program that can make the biggest impact off the field.

“It just kind of boils down to the connection and network side of things and what I felt the school could do for me on and off the field and how the degree can set me up when football is over,” Nichols said.

Elite offensive lineman shown elite courting tactics

A few fanbases made their pitches to the elite offensive lineman over the last few weeks on social media.

As a result, Nichols’ timeline flooded with #WeWantAddison tweets. Similarly, Oscar Delp has been peppered by multiple fan bases with hashtags #DelpIsADawg and #WeWantDelp.

Players from the programs recruiting him have reached out on multiple occasions in the last few months.

It was an unusual occurrence for the interior offensive lineman, but it was one that felt rewarding for Nichols as his recruiting gets close to concluding.

“Its’ cool to see a fanbase do something like that,” Nichols said. “I’ve never seen anything like that. That’s pretty cool that they’d do something like that.”

As an offensive lineman, the attention isn’t something Nichols seeks. Even still, the schools that have been recruiting him have made him a high priority. As a result, Nichols holds those schools at high regard for making him feel wanted.

“They’ve done a really great job, they speak to me every week,” Nichols said. “They spend a lot of time doing one-on-one Zoom calls and stuff with me going over how I would fit with the program and how I’d fit with them. I’ve really felt the love and attention to detail from them.”

For Nichols, Tennessee and North Carolina are in the same categories in aligning with his interests.

Tennessee and North Carolina have strong connection base, Ohio State has strong football program

“The connections and networking abilities are there,” Nichols said of Tennessee and North Carolina. “There are people that I am connected with at both schools. They do a lot of the things I want to do.”

Ohio State

“Ohio State is just a really good football program,” Nichols said. “I think that they can set me up well for football and as a young man.”

Nichols is close acquaintance of recent Ohio State commit Kojo Antwi. He took an official visit with Antwi to Ohio State back in June.

Nichols plays at Greater Atlanta Christian, which is about 20 miles from Antwi’s Lambert High School. Despite their close-knit relationship, Nichols was caught completely by surprise when Antwi committed to Ohio State last week.

“I was honestly surprised by the whole Ohio State thing,” Nichols said. “I didn’t know that was going to happen.”

Nichols does plan on talking to Antwi, though he hadn’t as of Wednesday morning.
