East Carolina found a creative way to troll South Carolina ahead of Saturday’s basketball game between the two schools. ECU took advantage of Spencer Rattler being on Cameo to have him wish the “Pirates” good luck during pregame.

East Carolina played a video of Rattler talking during pregame festivities. Part of the message from Rattler was captured on video.

You can watch the clip below:

Spencer Rattler apparently wished the Pirates good luck, although that part of the message wasn’t captured. However, you can hear him say the following:

“Wish nothing but the best for you guys. Go out there, play great defense, distribute the ball, finish at the rim, hit 3’s, do it all,” Rattler said. “Put it on the line, have fun, go out there and get this W. I’m cheering for you. Let’s go.”

South Carolina entered the game with a 7-1 record, while ECU entered 6-3. The Gamecocks were unbeaten, before falling to Clemson during a midweek game this week.

Spencer Rattler releases message on his time at South Carolina.

Spencer Rattler declared for the NFL draft last month after two seasons with the Gamecocks.

The decision came after Rattler put together arguably the most productive year of his career, throwing for 3,186 yards and 19 touchdowns, while also rushing for four scores.

“I will be declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft,” Rattler wrote on Instagram. “This has been a dream and goal of mine since I was a little kid and cannot wait for the chance to turn my dream into reality.”

Rattler also reflected on his time at South Carolina and what it meant to him. The former five-star recruit started his career at Oklahoma, before transferring to the Gamecocks.

“These two years have been by far the best times of my football life,” Spencer Rattler wrote. “The relationships made with my teammates, the big wins together, and getting to experience this great city of Columbia and the best fan base in college football each and every weekend.

“I want to thank coach (Shane) Beamer for bringing me here to South Carolina and letting me be a part of this family. His support and vision for this program and its players is something special. I want to thank coach (Dowell) Loggains for all of the support and being a great coach for me throughout this year.

“To my teammates, I loved being around you guys every single day and competing every Saturday. Those memories will forever be with me and we will have lifelong relationships.”
