EDGE Zavion Griffin-Haynes and LB Jayden Griffin-Haynes commit to North Carolina

Rolesville (N.C.) four-star EDGE Zavion Griffin-Haynes committed to North Carolina last fall when Mack Brown was the head coach. After the coaching change, Griffin-Haynes opened his recruitment back up, but again, he committed to the in-state program in Chapel Hill.
And this time, his brother, Jayden Griffin-Haynes, committed to the Tar Heels too.
“It is great to be committed to North Carolina and to be going to the same school as my brother,” Zavion told On3. “It came down to development, relationships and academics for me. I am planning to come in, work hard and play early.”
This commitment is different than the first one.
“North Carolina is going in the right direction. Things are so different than they were when I committed to coach Brown last year. Coach Belichick and his staff are getting the right guys, the staff is going to develop the players and the program is going to turn around.”
There is a new culture in Chapel Hill too.
“Chapel Hill is the spot to be. I get to stay home, play for a great staff and be one of the hometown kids that the fans love. The environment has changed and I get to be a part of it.”
Zavion Griffin-Haynes is the No. 36 EDGE in the country.
The official visit made a big impact on the decision
The brothers took their official visits to North Carolina last weekend. The decisions were made while on campus.

“The visit changed my perspective on everything,” Jayden said. “I was with my mom and my brother and we all loved it. They welcomed us, the coaches spent a lot of time with all of us and it feels great to stay home and to play with Zavion
“The best thing about the weekend was getting to know the coaches more and the environment was lit. The overall experience was great.”
Like Zavion, Jayden believes in Bill Belichick and the staff.
“The coaches did a great job recruiting us. The coaches are connected to the players in Chapel Hill and they have major goals as a program. It is going to be great to be a part of the program.
“We both see ourselves developing and playing at North Carolina.”
