Elijah Jamison has scored 2,664 career points. That would place the 6-foot-2 point guard fifth on the all-time NCHSAA scoring list, just 94 points outside of fourth and 182 away from third. Elijah Jamison has been a highly productive player for a long time.

“I’m a downhill guard,” Jamison told On3 after back-to-back wins at the Court XIV Classic. “I can get my team involved or score the ball. I’m a point guard. I am playing a lot more athletically now. I worked this season on a lot of leg and core work and my athleticism. I’m shooting the ball well this year too. I watch a lot of Jrue Holiday. He is a bigger guard like me, and he is going to try and guard you for 94-feet.”

They say the true measure of a point guard is wins and losses. Starting for Charlotte (NC) Liberty Heights these last two seasons, Jamison has accumulated a 46-5 record. College coaches have noticed his production and winning. Elijah Jamison spoke exclusively with On3 about his recruitment.

Jamison talks recruitment

“Wichita State offered me earlier this year; they’re talking to me a lot,” Jamison said. “They have a guard like me there now, so they tell me to watch Tyson Etienne all the time. They want me to watch how he plays in their offense and his movements because that is how they would like me to play for them.

“I got a lot of other schools talking to me too that might be close, like Maryland, Iona, South Florida, and some more. They are all telling me they like my game and how I’m playing this year, and they are all trying to get me on campus real soon, like in the next month.”

Jamison’s take

“I’m going to try to go on these visits later this month or early March. I want to see the schools and get a feel for the play style and coaches. I’d also like to see the campuses. I would like to decide within the next month or two.”

“I want to play fast, get up and down the floor; go to a school that plays a lot of guys 94-feet,” Jamison said. “I’d like to play for a coach who lets their guys play, read and react. I want to play with a good big too. I want to see how the players are off the court; are they out partying or getting in the gym. I also want to hear from the players because the coaches will tell you anything, but the players keep it real.”

On3’s take

Elijah Jamison is a strong-bodied point guard. He touches the paint at will and has excellent body control and balance in traffic. He has been a wildly productive player throughout high school. Jamison needs to continue cleaning up the jump shot will and tighten the reads, but he is one of the most productive scorers in the history of North Carolina basketball. He has also won a lot on the biggest stages.
