This summer will be jam-packed with big-time commitments from a slew of elite prospects. Add Jackson (Ala.) four-star running back Ezavier Crowell to the list.

After reclassifying up from the 2027 cycle in January, Crowell is now set to come off the board on June 26, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He will choose between six schools: Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia and Texas.

The 5-foot-11, 200-pounder is now the No. 33 overall prospect and No. 2 RB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 3 player in Alabama.

Helping lead Jackson to a state championship last season, Crowell rushed for 1,964 yards and 31 touchdowns, per MaxPreps. He’s tallied more than 4,000 total yards across his last two seasons and will be a key cog for the Aggies once again this fall in what will now be his final year of high school football.

Crowell is coming up on a string of official visits that will take place next month. Trips to Georgia (May 30), Texas (June 6), Auburn (June 13), Florida State (June 15) and Alabama (June 20) are on the docket.

Alabama is the team to beat for Crowell, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. Last month, On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong logged a pick in favor of the Crimson Tide keeping Crowell in his home state.

“Alabama has been considered the favorite for Crowell for a long time and will be tough to beat for the reclassified running back,” Wiltfong said earlier this month. “It’ll be up to other programs to move that needle elsewhere on upcoming official visits.”

Back in February, Crowell told On3’s Chad Simmons that he wasn’t planning to announce a commitment until the fall. Things have obviously sped up and he’s now on the fast track to a decision following his OVs next month.

“It is about who can develop me,” Crowell said. “Not just in football, but as a person too. I want to be better on and off the field.”

Scout’s Take on Ezavier Crowell

On3’s scouting and rankings team writes this of Crowell as a prospect:

“One of the most productive backs in the entire country this past season was none other than Ezavier Crowell. The junior out of Jackson HS (AL) ran for nearly 2,000 yards on the ground totaling 30-plus touchdowns while averaging nearly 12 yards per carry. Going into the season Crowell was someone we tabbed as a potential breakout candidate especially after running a personal best 10.73 in the 100m and a 22.38 in the 200m during his past track and field season. His blend of power speed and power at 200 pounds makes him one of the more traitsy backs in this 2026 recruiting cycle. Crowell’s balance and body control combined with his physical tools and athletic ability makes him one of the more complete backs this cycle.”
