College GameDay, ESPN’s flagship college football show, announced its Week 10 location on Sunday. The show’s Twitter account shared that pregame show will travel to Cincinnati for the first time ever. The Cincinnati Bearcats, No. 2 in the nation, host the 3-5 Tulsa Golden Hurricane.

The Bearcats are 8-0 and the only team in the country that ranks in the top 10 in both scoring offense and scoring defense.

College GameDay will broadcast live from UC’s campus ahead of No. 2-ranked Cincinnati’s homecoming matchup with Tulsa. The kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN2. The show will air for three hours from 9 a.m. to noon.

Cincinnati starting quarterback Desmond Ridder is one of the top players in the nation in 2021 and a prime candidate for the Reese’s Senior Bowl. He has the most career wins (39) of any quarterback in FBS football. He has 75 career touchdown passes and needs three more to tie the Cincinnati career record of 78.

On the other side of the ball, the Bearcats secondary is protected by Ahmad Gardner and Coby Bryant. Both defensive backs earned spots on the Thorpe Award 12-player semifinalist list last week. Opposing quarterbacks have a 50.6% completion rating versus the Bearcats and tossed 14 interceptions against them so far.

College GameDay went to Lansing, Michigan, for their Week 9 broadcast. No. 8 Michigan State took down No. 6 Michigan 37-33.

Cincinnati holds steady versus Tulane

The Cincinnati Bearcats earned their eighth win of the season versus Tulane on Saturday on the road in Week 9. Cincinnati held a two-point lead at the halftime whistle but came out with a 17-point shutout in the second half.

“A win is a win,” head coach Luke Fickell said postgame. “Obviously, the first half was difficult on us. They did a really good job of keeping the ball from our offense, methodically moving the ball, getting first downs and giving us a lot of different things that we hadn’t seen. But I’m proud of our guys and how they went in at halftime. They didn’t panic.”

The Bearcats also started 8-0 in 2020 and finished 9-1 in the pandemic-shortened season. They took down No. 23 Tulsa in the AAC Championship before losing to Georgia 24-21 in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl.
