After a year filled with upsets, surprises, and excitement, this college basketball season is now in the books. The season came to an end on Monday night when the Kansas Jayhawks and North Carolina Tar Heels met in the National Championship. Kansas ultimately held on to win a thrilling game 72-69, taking home the national title over UNC. Following the championship game, the final Coaches Poll Top 25 poll of the season has been released.

The entire NCAA Tournament this year was filled with upsets, and some teams went on some highly unlikely runs. The most surprising team to make a run this season was 15th-seeded Saint Peter’s, who made it all the way to the Elite Eight before losing to the East Region’s eventual champion, UNC. Tenth-seeded Miami also made its first Elite Eight in program history before falling to the Midwest Region’s champion, Kansas.

Ultimately, only one No. 1 seed made it to the Elite Eight. All of the other top seeds lost in the Sweet 16 or earlier, and those losses had big impacts on the final Coaches Poll Top 25. Gonzaga lost in the Sweet 16 to Arkansas, Baylor lost to UNC in the Round of 32, and Arizona lost to Houston in the Sweet 16. Things were only slightly better on the two line, as Villanova and Duke both made it to the Final Four. The other two second seeds suffered early losses on opening weekend, with Kentucky losing to Saint Peter’s in the opening round and Auburn falling to Miami in the second round.

But after all of the NCAA Tournament action, a champion has been crowned and all teams are now in the offseason. Here is a full look at the final Coaches Poll Top 25 poll following the conclusion of the NCAA Tournament.
