Ocala (Fla.) IMG Academy three-star interior offensive lineman G’Nivre Carr has committed to Florida, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

He chose the Gators following an official visit to Gainesville this weekend. Carr has also considered the likes of Miami, Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee.

The 6-foot-4, 325-pounder is the No. 468 overall prospect and No. 39 IOL in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 67 player in Florida.

Head coach Billy Napier and the UF staff have prioritized the close-to-home trench monster. Carr has seen the Swamp plenty throughout his process, has a family connection with the in-state program and is now in the fold after a big OV.

“It is home away from home, literally 30 minutes from my house,” Carr previously told On3. “I basically grew up in a household filled with Gator fans. I love the culture and staff and what they’re building in the in the near future.”

Carr plays for one of the most notable brands in high school football. The senior lineman will help lead an IMG roster that’s once again loaded with Power Four talent. Last season, the Ascenders finished as the No. 22 team nationally, per the On3 Composite Rankings.

Gators looking for momentum on the recruiting trail

Napier and his staff had a slew of elite recruits on campus this weekend. Carr is the first to join the fold this month, though UF hopes many more will follow suit across the coming weeks.

Carr is commitment No. 3 for Florida this cycle. Tampa Jesuit four-star quarterback Will Griffin has been in the class since June 1 of last year. Cleveland Glenville three-star defensive lineman Jamir Perez committed last month.

Griffin is now the No. 257 recruit and No. 17 QB in the nation. The Elite 11 finalist remains locked in with the in-state school. Griffin is coming off a junior season where he completed 186 of 286 attempts (65%), while throwing for 2,213 yards and 24 touchdowns.

Other visitors on campus for UF this weekend included five-star safety Bralan Womack, four-star cornerback CJ Hester, four-star safety Kaiden Hall and four-star defensive lineman Vodney Cleveland.
