Police arrested former Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver and Denver Broncos star Jerry Jeudy on Thursday afternoon, according to Denver Post reporter Ryan O’Halloran. His charges were released on Thursday afternoon and according to the Arapahoe Sheriff’s Twitter page — he was arrested on charges of second-degree criminal tampering with a domestic violence enhancer — a misdemeanor.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the charge of second-degree criminal tampering in the state of Colorado means tampering with another person’s property “with intent to cause injury, inconvenience, or annoyance.” The domestic violence related enhancer is based on Jeudy’s relationship with the accuser.

Jeudy is expected to have a breakout season this year with Russell Wilson under center for the Denver Broncos. While his production hasn’t been what many people expected thus far in the National Football League, his surgical and precise route running paired up with nine-time Pro Bowler Russell Wilson figures to be a lethal combination for opposing defenses to stop.

The Broncos selected Jeudy 15th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Alabama. As a rookie in 2020, Jeudy played in all 16 games for the Broncos, bringing in 52 receptions for 856 yards and three touchdowns. This past season, he only played in ten games due to injuries but still had 38 receptions for 467 yards.

Jeudy was a consensus All-American in 2018 and first-team All-SEC twice. He finished his career at Alabama with 159 receptions in 42 games for 2742 yards and 26 touchdowns.

Signing in the class of 2017, Jerry Jeudy was a five star-prospect at Deerfield Beach High School. He was the No. 22 recruit in the nation and No. 3 wide receiver, according to the On3 Consensus. His senior year at Deerfield Beech, Jeudy snatched 76 passes for 1,054 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns. As one of the most highly coveted receiver prospects in America, he also suited up in the Under Armour All-American Game.
