Former Pitt WR Jordan Addison suspended three games by the NFL

Former Pitt wide receiver Jordan Addison has been suspended three games by the NFL for violating the league’s Substances of Abuse Policy, the Minnesota Vikings announced Tuesday night.
Addison can participate in all training camp activities, including preseason games, but he will miss the first three games of the season.
Addison pleaded no contest last month to resolve a DUI citation in 2024. His charge was reduced to wet reckless driving on a highway, and he agreed to pay a fine and received a year of probation. But even the reduced charge left him subject to NFL discipline, considering his use of alcohol.
Addison has played the last two seasons for the Vikings, after being selected in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He’s coming off a season in which he racked up 63 receptions for 875 yards and nine touchdowns.
In two seasons, he’s racked up 133 receptions for 1,786 yards (13.4 yards per reception) and 19 touchdowns, serving as the No. 2 wideout in Minnesota.
He started his college career at Pitt, emerging as the best wide receiver in the country in 2021.
He earned the third Biletnikoff Award in the history of Pitt football in 2021, joining Antonio Bryant and Larry Fitzgerald, as well as consensus All-American honors on the heels of a season in which he caught 100 balls for 1,593 yards (15.9 yards per catch) and 17 touchdowns.
However, in April of 2022, Addison decided to enter the transfer portal and elected to transfer to USC, finishing his collegiate career with the Trojans.
After two seasons at Pitt, he finished his career with 160 catches for 2,259 yards (14.1 yards per catch) and 21 touchdowns in just 24 games.
Addison will miss games against the Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons and Cincinnati Bengals and return to action in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
