Four-star athlete Daniel Hill of Meridian (MS) High narrowed his list to 8 schools Sunday night.

The 6-foot-1, 233 pounder is down to the following: Alabama, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, LSU, Mississippi State, Michigan, and Auburn.

Hill discusses finalists with On3

Alabama

“I’ve always loved Alabama. They were the first team I watched when I first started playing football. They’ll always have a special place in my heart no matter where I choose to go just because they’ve always been a school I dreamed of going to.”

Penn State

“I love the culture that they’re building and I could really see myself elevating the program and getting over the hump and becoming national champions. I feel I could be a game changer especially in the Big 10.”

South Carolina

“Ever since they’ve offered me I’ve felt like it was home. They are building something really special in Columbia and I could really see myself building a part of that. Everything about South Carolina excites me.”

Tennessee

“I believe Tennessee is one piece away from becoming a real contender especially after the year they had last year. I could see myself being in an explosive offense like they have and the thing I could do in a system like that would be crazy.”

LSU

“They will always have a special place in my heart. They were the first team that offered me and believed in my abilities so for that I will always and forever love LSU.”

Mississippi State

“Hometown team is never bad to play for, especially when they’ve been recruiting you for a while. I’ve always been a state fan and you can never get enough of the cowbells. When Mississippi State is good the whole state of Mississippi is engaged with the team.”

Michigan

“I’ve just recently over the past 5 years started to pay attention to Michigan. They’ve been producing NFL talent. As a recruit that’s something that you have to look at especially if that’s the plan after college. I’m giving Michigan a chance to show me what they really have to offer for me.”

Auburn

“Growing up I never really liked Auburn. Once you’re being recruited you have to put all of that to the side and be opened to what they have to say. I can really say they are really good people over their Coaches and all. That’s something I really love about the program of how much they really want to be back to what they once were. I could really be apart of something special.”

Hill ranks as the No. 194 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 6 athlete and the No. 7 player in the state of Mississippi.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $74K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
