Four-star Temple (Texas) athlete Mikal Harrison-Pilot is down to 12 schools, he announced Thursday on Twitter.

Harrison-Pilot is the No. 98 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the country’s No. 4 athlete and the No. 18 junior prospect in the Lone Star State.

Among his top 12 are: Arkansas, Baylor, Cal, Florida, Florida State, Houston, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon, TCU, Texas, and USC.

The 6-foot, 190-pounder whittled down to those 12 from more than two dozen offers. He has been busy on the recruiting trail over the past few months, and in total he has made 26 campus visits over the past two years. His most popular destination has been Texas, which he has seen nearly half a dozen times. The latest was a trip two weeks ago during the Longhorns’ big recruiting weekend.

Texas is currently the slight leader in his recruitment, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). It gives the Longhorns a 33.5 percent chance of securing his commitment, with Houston (13.6%) and a handful of other schools trailing behind.

Mikal Harrison-Pilot, who could play either receiver or safety at the next level, is coming off visits to Stanford and Cal, though only the Bears made his top schools list. He plans to make a commitment decision either this summer or early this fall before his high school season starts.
