Four-star defensive lineman Hunter Osborne of Trussville (Ala.) Hewitt-Trussville High has narrowed his list to four schools– Clemson, Texas, Tennessee, and Alabama.

The 6-foot-4, 260 pounder will announce his college decision on August 1st.

Osborne went in-depth on his finalists.

Clemson

“The Clemson culture and outstanding development of their guys make them an option for me,” Osborne said. “The relationship I have with each defensive coach is incredible and that sticks out to me.”

Texas

With Texas, the development that coach Bo Davis has shown over the years makes them a no brainer as a finalist for me,” Osborne said. “They are on fire in recruiting right now and I believe they will be on top real soon.”

Tennessee

“With Tennessee the relationship with Coach Heupel and Coach Garner is top notch,” Osborne said. “Tennessee is a program on the rise with Coach Heup and the future is bright for them.”

Alabama

“Bama’s development and culture makes them a finalist, Osborne said. “Coach Saban is the goat and the opportunity to play for him is something to think about. Coach Roach and I talk very often and our relationship is top notch. It’s a business down at Bama and everyone knows what the end goal is.”

Hunter Osborne Scouting Summary

“Powerful, edge-setting defensive end who could grow into an interior defensive lineman down the line. Measured at over 6-foot-3, 250 pounds prior to his senior season. Has good length for the position with a 6-foot-8.5 wing-span. Plays defensive end for one of the better talent-producing high school programs in Alabama. A naturally strong athlete who wins with power. Takes on and sheds blocks to make plays in the backfield. Shows the ability to beat double teams with a straight-line power rush. Totaled 10 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks as a junior. More of a power rusher and run defender than a speed pass rusher at this time. Can improve his first-step quickness and pass rush technique. Current skill set and body type point to his highest upside being as a 3-4 defensive end or potentially an interior defensive lineman, pending his ultimate size.”

Osborne ranks as the No. 113 player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that accounts for all four major recruiting sites. He also tabs in as the No. 12 defensive lineman and the No. 11 player in the state of Alabama.
