Bishop Boswell, a 6-foot-4, 195-pound point guard out of Charlotte (NC) Myers Park, ranks as the No. 61 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Consensus.

The On3 Consensus is the average ranking from all four major recruiting media companies (ESPN, Rivals, 247Sports, On3).

At the City of Palms Classic in Florida, Boswell discussed his game and gave an update on the recruitment process.

Boswell discusses his game

“I think I really sit down on the defensive end,” Boswell said. “I put a lot of energy in that. I can knock down shots, I can get in the paint and find open teammates and move the ball. So I can do just a little bit of everything my team needs me to do.”

What does Boswell want to improve on?

“Handling the ball a little bit better,” he says. “I can always bring the turnovers down. Sometimes with that, I get a little outta control. I think my pace could improve. So stop and start a little bit better. And then obviously, keep improving on my jump shot.”

Two schools in contact the most

Boswell holds scholarship offers from Houston, Wake Forest, USF, Georgia, and Texas A&M but two schools are keeping in consistent contact.

“The main two are probably Georgia and Wake Forest,” Boswell said.

The Charlotte native has unofficially visited both the programs and he went in-depth on both the trips.

Georgia: “I liked it a lot. Great campus, great facilities and I love the coaching staff, Mike White up there. He’s been successful with point guards in the past, so I think it’s just a great school and great atmosphere out there.”

Wake Forest: “Obviously love it. I’ve been out there multiple times. I love the coaching staff, the head coach, and all the assistants. Love the facilities, love the guys, love the offense they run, and I think I would fit really well in the offense there.”

Boswell’s recruitment is still open but he says he grew up a fan of the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Timetable for a commitment?

“You never know,” Boswell said when asked when he’d like to make a college decision. “I’m still talking to schools. I obviously like two (Wake Forest, Georgia) a lot right now, but I think we’ll kind of wait, play out the AAU season, finish the high school season, but I’m really just focused on high school right now and then we’ll see where it takes me.”

Scouting Summary

“Bishop Boswell is a tough-minded, paint-touch point guard,” On3’s Jamie Shaw writes. “At 6-foot-4, he has long arms, and as a former football recruit, he brings a sense of toughness to the court. Boswell is a high-level on-ball defender. He will pick up his man for the full length of the floor and turn his man multiple times. Boswell plays well out of the pick and roll, where he makes good reads. He touches the paint in the half-court, and his decision-making is improving. The jump shot is streaky but improving. The arc on his shot can get flat at times, but he is becoming at least a threat from three. Boswell has solid straight-line burst and quick feet. He makes plays.”
