Breaking down the finalists

Gilbert discussed what stands out about each of his top schools.

USC– I feel like coach Donte is the best DB coach in college football right now and coach Riley loves me. They call a lot at least 4 days a week.

South Carolina-Coach Gray and coach Beamer let me know that I am a priority for them and they are big on me.

Texas– Coach Gideon and coach Joseph love me. They feel like I can play every position in the secondary and they let me know that I am a must get for them.

Georgia Tech-It’s literally down the street from me and have built a great relationship with coach Key and coach Tillman. They show that I’m wanted but also needed there as well.

Tennessee-I love the Volunteers and coach banks and what I’m seeing in the defense. The whole defensive staff and coach Heupel sees me as a priority to them at the safety position in my class. They all feel like I can come in early and make a big impact.

Clemson-I have been talking to coach Reed for a while since I committed to Ohio State, but due to their policy they couldn’t offer me. But when I decommitted we started to build a great relationship and they offered me last week and I’ve been talking to all the defensive staff ever since.

Colorado– Coach Prime is doing something special and coach Kelly is making great things happen in Boulder. They make it known to me that they want me to be a part of what they have going on up there and my dad went to school with half of the coaching staff so we have a very strong bond.

Auburn– Coach Zac, that’s my guy along with coach Freeze. Those guys check up on me and my family every week. They are big on me as well. They see I can play safety and corner and they see me as a utility guy in the secondary.

LSU-I have a great relationship with coach Coo and coach Steele. We are always on the phone and can talk about life situations and ball. We also go over the things I could have done better from the week before the game and keep it real and give me feedback and they feel like I can come in early and make an impact on the secondary and be the next greatest db to come out of the boot.

NC State – Coach Doran loves me and I’m really comfortable with the coaching staff at NC State. They are from the area I’m from so I can relate to those guys and I’m a big priority for them in the 2025 class.
