Christian Hamilton, one of the top prospects in the Tar Heel State, will head south a few hours in both March and April to visit South Carolina and Clemson, he announced on Thursday.

Hamilton is the No. 150 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 25 receiver and the No. 2 junior prospect in North Carolina.

Hamilton has visited Clemson twice previously — last June and then in October for a game day trip. He’ll be on campus March 5 for the Tigers’ junior day event. After previously seeing the Gamecocks last summer, he’ll return to Columbia on April 16 for an unofficial visit.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pounder is a prime target for a number of ACC programs, including Clemson, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and N.C. State. He has also drawn offers from Ohio State, Penn State, Notre Dame, Georgia and a number of other programs.

Christian Hamilton has strong ties to the Palmetto State

According to On3’s Joseph Hastings, Hamilton has family ties to the state of South Carolina. And his parents would like to see him end up there.

“Hamilton’s parents have expressed the desire for their son to head to the Palmetto State at the next level,” Hastings recently wrote. More specifically, they want him at either Clemson or South Carolina. Worth noting is that his mother is originally from Columbia (South Carolina), explaining her desire to see Hamilton at one of those two schools. This will be a battle with other schools in the Carolinas, but the Tigers are in a good spot early on here.”

Hamilton said as much when On3’s Jeremy Johnson caught up with him last fall.

“As long as it’s one of them (South Carolina or Clemson), they’re good,” Hamilton said. “They just want to see me in a place where it feels like home with the family and the atmosphere. They want me to make a 40-year decision.”
