Garrett Brewer, Michigan State transfer pitcher, commits to Auburn

AUBURN — Auburn baseball landed another transfer pitcher, as Michigan State’s Garrett Brewer committed to the Tigers, sources confirm to Auburn Live.

Brewer is a sophomore left-handed pitcher who struck out 41 batters in 34.1 innings last season. Coming out of high school, Brewer was rated as the No. 5 pitcher and No. 38 overall player in Michigan by Prep Baseball Report.

Brewer pitched in nine games as a true freshman, striking out 17 and walking 13 in 10.2 innings with a 4.22 ERA. He threw in 17 games as a sophomore, striking out 41, walking 17 in 34.1 innings with a 4.46 ERA.

Auburn Live previously reported that UAB third baseman transfer Todd Clay committed to the Tigers, as well as Western Kentucky transfer pitcher Drew Whalen and Virginia Tech transfer pitcher Jake Marciano also committed to the Tigers, along with Texas State infield transfer Ryne Farber.
