Buford (Ga.) four-star linebacker Jadon Perlotte has been committed to Georgia since Dec. 8, 2022. That hasn’t stopped the 6-foot-3, 200-pounder from continuing to work through his recruitment, however.

Plenty of programs have had Perlotte on campus for multiple visits, including Auburn, Alabama, Florida and Florida State. Despite racking up trips to other schools, Perlotte is yet to waver from his pledge to Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs.

“That’s always been home, always been my dream school,” Perlotte told On3’s Phillip Dukes on The Five Star Flex.

No school has had more visits with Perlotte than UGA. Each returning visit to Athens reminds the Peach State product why he’s pledged. From Smart, to defensive coordinator and LBs coach Glenn Schumann, to the rest of the staff, Perlotte has developed solid relationships and sees the route to the next level as a linebacker in that system.

“Just seeing those linebackers, I always go up there, I’ve got good relationships with all of them,” Perlotte said. “Seeing them get drafted high, they always Georgia is LBU, so that’s really where I want to be at is the next level, the league.”

Perlotte no longer considering Florida State

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), Perlotte has been trending to flip his pledge from Georgia to Florida State. While the Seminoles looked to be in a good spot for the blue-chipper back in the fall, he now says that he is no longer considering the ACC program.

“I dropped Florida State, so I’m not even looking at them anymore,” he said.

Perlotte, the No. 54 overall prospect and No. 8 LB in the 2025 cycle, recently took another visit to Auburn as the Tigers also look to flip his commitment. He told On3’s Chad Simmons at the beginning of 2024 that he was planning to take an official visit to The Plains down the road. New Auburn defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin has been in contact as he transitions over from Texas A&M.

“They’ve got a couple new coaches — Coach Durkin from Texas A&M, I’ve been up to Texas A&M a couple of times,” Perlotte said. “He actually told me he moved down there just cause he knew I wasn’t going to go to Texas A&M … we have a good relationship, which is really big and I’m just going to keep moving forward.”

Alabama is another potential suitor that could be in line for an official visit. Plenty of programs will continue to keep contact with Perlotte until he puts pen to paper and signs with a school. He’s still not ready to shut things down, but as of now he remains sturdy in his commitment to Georgia.

“I’ve been committed to Georgia since right after my sophomore year, going on two years being committed there. Just staying loyal, but looking around, seeing other opportunities that I can have. Being committed to Georgia is such a high standard, everybody wants somebody like that,” he said.

“This spring, this summer, it’s a big time, but right now I’m locked in with the Dawgs.”
