Mobile (Ala.) Cottage Hill Christian Academy four-star linebacker Shadarius Toodle has flipped his commitment from Auburn to Georgia.

”It was a very tough decision, but after a lot of talks with my family, I decided Georgia is the best fit for me,” Toodle told On3.

”The development at Georgia was big in this decision. What they do with players and where I want to go was big. How I get along with the coaches and the players was important to me too. They have a great environment, they work hard and they work together.

“What Georgia is, and what Georgia does, is something I want to be a part of.”

Pledged to the in-state Tigers since July 27, Toodle is now set to leave the Yellowhammer State and head to Athens. The likes of Michigan, North Carolina and Baylor were also involved in his recruitment.

Toodle is the No. 138 overall prospect and No. 8 LB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 9 player in Alabama.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder took an official visit to UGA on the weekend of May 16 and Kirby Smart’s program picked up momentum from there.

“It started for me with Georgia when Coach Schumann came down to see me in January. He showed me and my family that I was important to him. We talked about the fit, how he liked me and I learned more about the defense.

”After I left my official visit, I knew it was Georgia. I had been to Auburn so many times, and I liked it a lot, but my feeling at Georgia was different. I never had that feeling at Auburn. That is when I knew.

Toodle now adds to a class that’s gunning for top-three status in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings once again.

Glenn Schumann was the lead recruiter and he did a great job in this recruitment.

”Coach Schumann is genuine,” Toodle said. “He is a great coach who develops players and keeps it real. He will really help develop me on and off the field.”
