The Green Bay Packers are facing significant COVID-19 issues as they continue to make a push toward the NFC playoffs.

On Monday, the team announced G Ben Braden, LB Tipa Galeai, WR Amari Rodgers and LB Ty Summers have all been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list, while DL RJ McIntosh has been added to the practice squad reserve/COVID 19 list.

As the memo on the Green Bay Packers’ website notes, clubs are not permitted to comment on a player’s medical status other than referring to roster status. Being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list is for a player who either tests positive for COVID-19 or who has been in close contact with an infected person or persons.

Coming off a huge win over the Cleveland Browns, Aaron Rodgers and the Pack appear to be surging at the right time despite having to constantly deal with injuries and COVID issues all season long. Packers’ fans will hope this is the extent of players who will miss time this week.

Green Bay Packers make history in win over Browns

Matt Lafleur and Green Bay made history on Christmas night. After defeating the Cleveland Browns 24-22, the young head coach is in a class of his own. He became the first head coach in NFL history with at least 12 wins in each of his first three seasons, per Field Yates of ESPN.

It’s a great accomplishment for LaFleur and he should be proud of it. Winning 12 games in each of your first three seasons is a spectacular accomplishment. It’s not easy to do and there’s a reason why he’s the only coach in NFL history to do so.

It certainly hasn’t hurt LaFleur that he’s had one of the greatest quarterbacks ever to suit up playing for him the past three seasons either. Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are once again poised to make a significant run at the Lombardi Trophy.

That being said, the Packers have looked like one of the most complete teams in the National Football League in 2021. They’ve got one of the best combinations of talent on the offensive and defensive side of the football. They currently sit at 12-3 for a reason. LaFleur’s got a very strong argument for 2021 NFL Coach of the Year honors.
