Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman four-star point guard Jase Richardson is the No. 49 overall player in the On3 2024 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. The 6-foot-3 rising senior updated his college recruitment with On3 while at the Pangos All-American Camp.

Last month, Richardson narrowed his list of colleges down to eight: Alabama, Arkansas, Cincinnati, Michigan State, San Diego State, Stanford, USC, and Virginia.

Of those eight, he says four are prioritizing him.

“I would say Cincinnati, Alabama, Michigan State, and Stanford are the main four pushing really hard,” Richardson says.

Richardson talks four programs heavily involved

He broke down each of those four programs and says what stands out.

Stanford: “Well, its Stanford (laughs). It’s one of the best schools in the country when it comes to academics. I feel like they’re putting something together with Andrej (Stojakovic) and Kanaan (Carlyle). When I went for my visit, it was really nice out there. It just kind’ve stuck out to me and my parents.”

Michigan State: “I feel as if the (staff) treats me like I’m family. With my dad going there, I feel like I’m apart of the family already. I’m talking to coach Izzo basically everyday. He checks up on me all the time. I’ve built a good relationship with all the coaches.

“My dad is completely unbiased during this process. He just wants what’s best for me, whatever the best program fit for me. Definately no bias from him.”

Jase is the son of former Michigan State star and longtime NBA player Jason Richardson.

Cincinnati: “How hard they recruit (is what stands out). I’m talking to coach (Andre) Morgan and coach Wes (Miller) every day. I feel like they are prioritizing me as one of their top recruits and they see something me. I think I’m taking a visit to them in September.”

Alabama: “They were a big team this year, basically a top-five team all season. They had a great run in March Madness. I just like how coach (Nate) Oats coaches his guys. He’s defensive-oriented and then on offense, he lets them go and I like that about them.”

Richardson says he would like to make a decision by Border League which runs Oct. 12-15.
