Jeremy Fears, a 6-foot-1 point guard out of Joliet (Ill.) La Lumiere tells On3 he is down to eight schools – Memphis, Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois, Kansas, UConn, Indiana, and Missouri.

Fears will no longer consider scholarship offers from Gonzaga, Auburn, Purdue, Iowa State, Xavier, Ole Miss, Maryland, Kansas State, Creighton, Nebraska, DePaul, and Iowa.

Fears, the No. 46 overall prospect in the On3 50, has taken unofficial visits to Michigan State, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri. He has not taken any official visits just yet.

Fears does not have an exact timetable for a commitment but expects to decide towards the end of this high school season.

Jeremy Fears gave his thoughts on each of his finalists in an exclusive interview with On3 here. (On3+)

What is Fears looking for in a college?

“For me to be able to come in and play…be able to run the team and have freedom,” Fears said. “A winning program with winning players. A great coach that’ll tell me when I’m doing wrong and get on me. A coach that’s going to push me and help me get better.”
