The Green Bay Packers came out and played like a completely different team on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. They played stout defense and frustrated Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, forcing him to throw two interceptions to former Auburn star Rudy Ford. The Packers’ offense was carried by a spectacular three-touchdown performance from their rookie receiver, Christian Watson. The Cowboys defense also couldn’t stop Green Bay running back Aaron Jones, who ran for 138 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries. Following the disappointing defeat, Dallas owner Jerry Jones revealed how frustrated he was with the loss courtesy of Jon Machota of The Athletic.

“They were able to run the ball better. They were able to stop us more. It was a very disappointing loss. We’re rested, had two weeks off. Everybody was ready to go. Just couldn’t get it done,” Jones said. “It’s very frustrating. We’re healthy. We got our guys out there.”

It was one of the best games of the 2022-2023 NFL season thus far and while it was a disappointing loss, the Cowboys should be pleased with their effort in a highly entertaining affair. Dallas running back Tony Pollard continues to impress without Ezekiel Elliott on the field.

Pollard has shown to be one of the most efficient and explosive ball carriers in the National Football League when given the opportunity. On Sunday against Green Bay, he ran for 115 rushing yards and a touchdown on 22 carries.

Jerry Jones did not want to comment on OBJ speculation

With so much speculation around the franchise potentially adding Odell Beckham Jr. to the mix, though, Jerry Jones was in no mood to discuss the star wide receiver after the loss.

Per Jon Machota of The Athletic, Jones nipped any Beckham Jr. talk in the bud during media. His mind was on the defeat and, in his opinion, he says that Dallas already has more than enough on the roster to be able to secure a win in a game like Sunday.

“That’s another subject, with another point. I won’t go there,” said Jones. “We really had the players on the field to get the job done tonight.”

Beckham Jr. has been linked to Jones and the Cowboys over the last several weeks. It really intensified around the trade deadline and it was reported earlier this week that he hopes to be on a roster by November.

With that said, Dallas did more than enough in the passing game today where, OBJ or not, they should have prevailed. Rumors connecting the Super Bowl champion wideout and the Cowboys will continue to swirl, though, until Beckham Jr. makes the final call on his next NFL destination.
