Kansas State added a commitment Monday afternoon from Erie (Colo.) High School offensive lineman John Pastore. The 6-foot-6, 270-pound offensive lineman picked the Wildcats over Nebraska.

John Pastore was offered by both K-State and Nebraska after strong camp performances in June. He also had scholarship offers from Colorado State, South Dakota and Wyoming. After camping in Manhattan in June, he returned for another visit to K-State in July.

When announcing his commitment, Pastore thanked his teammates and coaches at Erie for helping him get to this point in the process. He also was complimentary of the Wildcat coaches and players.

“I’d also like to thank the coaches and players at Kansas State for making me feel at home during my visits,” he said. “Looking forward to new experiences and success.”

The commitment gives K-State two pledges on the offensive line. He joins Grapevine, Texas, lineman Drake Bequaeith in the K-State class. Both Pastore and Bequaeith can project at all three positions along the offensive line.

Pastore’s news gives the Wildcats 10 commitments in the 2022 class.

Pastore put up some impressive testing numbers at both K-State and Nebraska’s camps. At the Husker camp, he measured in at 6-foot-5.5, and he ran a 4.9-second time in the 40-yard dash. He also tested at 4.7-seconds in the pro agility and had a 28-inch vertical leap.
