Joson Sanon, one of the top shooting guards in the 2025 class, has narrowed his list of schools down to six. Moving forward, the 6-foot-5 junior out of Vermont Academy will consider Arizona, Boston College, Connecticut, Kansas, Kentucky, and Overtime Elite.

He previously considered the likes of Georgia, Indiana, Louisville, and Providence.

Ranked No. 11 nationally in the On3 Industry Ranking, Sanon has officially visited Arizona and unofficially visited UConn, Boston College, and Kentucky.

“I’m scoring a lot better on the ball now,” Sanon recently told On3’s Jamie Shaw. “I’ve heard some people say that I can only score off the ball, so now I am starting to bring out my mid-post game and scoring with the ball in the game. I’m watching a lot of Demar DeRozan and how he likes to get to his middie, and keep attacking.”

What Sanon’s looking for in a school

“The environment around the school will be big for me,” Sanon told Shaw. “I am going to look closely at their play style. I like to play fast, use ball screens, and move the ball. And I like how we play here at Vermont Academy.”

Scouting Report

“Joson Sanon has a basketball player’s frame, with long arms and wide-set shoulders. His pace is excellent, Sanon is never rushed with the ball. At 6-5, he has a pure jump shot with range beyond the arc. He is comfortable shooting off the bounce or the catch, keeping his mechanics consistent throughout. Sanon is a good athlete with explosion and burst. He has the upside to be a good defender, both on and off the ball. Sanon has a solid handle, comfortable getting to the midrange off one and two dribbles. Sanon is tracking among the top in his class.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
