Kai Rogers is a 6-foot-10 center in the class of 2025. Wauwatosa (WI) West prospect is averaging 15.0 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks playing with the Wisconsin Playground program on the Under Armour Next 16u Circuit.

“I can play multiple positions,” Rogers told On3. “I’m dominant in the post. I make good passes. I’m working on my handles, and I have a decent shot. I lost a lot of weight over the summer, so I am quicker now, and I’m able to use my athleticism more. I’ve watched a lot of players like Anthony Davis. He’s versatile and can shoot threes and score, but he’s also good on defense.”

On3 caught up with Kai Rogers after a recent live viewing to talk about his recruitment.

Rogers talks recruitment

“I’ve been on a couple of unofficial visits,” Rogers said. “Of the schools who have offered, I’ve been to Minnesota, Wisconsin, Arizona State, and Iowa.”

Wisconsin: “My visit there was for a football game. It was really loud, and the crowd was amazing. The fans love their sports there. They play through their posts a lot in their system, so I feel like that fits me well.”

Iowa: “It is only the colleges in Iowa, so those are their sports teams there. They have a great atmosphere there, and it’s very live in their stadium. Like with Luka Garza, we saw them play through their bigs a lot there. They also get a lot of kick outs for threes.”

Minnesota: “They have kind of an NBA style of play. I didn’t go there for a game, but I’ve watched them play a few times on tv. They like to get out and run.”

Arizona State: “I haven’t been able to watch them play a lot, but visiting down there their campus was really nice. It was good to be able to get down there to talk with the coaches.”

“I know I can start taking official visits soon,” Rogers said. “But I haven’t really started talking to schools yet about visits. I definitely want to try and take visits to the schools that have offered me.”

Along with the schools listed above, Rogers claims offers from Marquette, Purdue, St. John’s, Georgetown, Illinois, Texas, and Ole Miss.

Michigan State and Iowa State are two schools who haven’t offered yet, but they might be close,” Rogers said.

In his words

“I’ll be looking closely at the player development,” Rogers said. “Some schools are very hard on their players. They want them to develop and become the best versions of themselves for the future. That is what I want in a program because I want to go to the league.”
