Albany (Ga.) Dougherty four-star running back and Florida State commit Kam Davis has been committed to the Seminoles since February 2021.

In that time, numerous other schools have extended offers to him and worked to flip him away from FSU. He has taken visits to other programs in that span, but has never wavered from his commitment to the ‘Noles. Now, after a recent visit to rival Florida last weekend, strong pursuit from SEC power Georgia, and a trip to Tallahassee this weekend, Davis is ready to take the next step in his recruitment.

On Saturday, the 5-foot-9.5, 205 pound tailback announced that he is shutting down his recruitment and is fully committed to Mike Norvell and the ‘Noles.

“Thanks to every coach and program throughout this recruitment process,” Davis wrote on Twitter. “The relationships made will forever be cherished. With that being said I am now shutting down my recruitment.”

Davis is the No. 43 overall prospect and No. 3 running back in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 6 player in Georgia.

When he visited Tallahassee last month, Davis hinted that he was ready to be done with the recruiting process in an interview with Warchant.

“Honestly, I’m in the process of shutting it down,” Davis said. “Kind of locked in on what I want to do. I would not say just this weekend itself, but just talking with other coaches and going to see other things, I think it’s something that is too late. Been locked in for two years. So that would be kind of strange to come out and say that I want to go somewhere else.”

Now, he has made it official.

Kam Davis is second FSU commit to shut down his recruitment recently

As a junior, Davis ran for 2,736 yards, scored 20 touchdowns and averaged 16.7 yards. He was named Georgia’s Class AAA Player of the Year in 2022.

He is the second Florida State commit in as many days to announces that his recruitment was shut down, joining four-star quarterback pledge Luke Kromenhoek. That duo has been and will continue to be top recruiters for FSU in this cycle.

“There are some guys I think would fit in great with the 2024 class that we are building,” Davis said last month. “With me and Luke being able to maintain the class in us being the first two commitments in the class, it puts a lot of responsibility on us to talk to guys and get points about Florida State.”
