2026 LB Joseph Credit commits to Kansas

Pearland (Texas) three-star linebacker Joseph Credit has committed to Kansas, he announced on Tuesday morning.
He chose the Jayhawks over Arizona State and UCLA.
Credit is the No. 768 overall prospect and No. 62 LB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 119 player in Texas.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder picked up an offer from KU last June. He made his way to Lawrence last fall, was visited by coaches before returning for an official visit in April and is now in the boat for head coach Lance Leipold and Co.
Credit is commitment No. 15 for Kansas this cycle. As a junior for Pearland last season, he tallied 77 total tackles and five sacks, per MaxPreps. The Oilers won nine games a season ago and finished as a top-100 team in the Lone Star State, according to the On3 Composite Rankings.
Jayhawks pushing for top-25 recruiting class
With Credit in the mix, KU now has seven commits on the defensive side of the ball. He’s the second listed linebacker in the class alongside Lawrence (Kan.) three-star Joshua Galbreath. A pair of EDGE recruits are also pledged: Wichita (Kan.) Maize South three-star Hunter Higgins and Orange City (Iowa) MOC-Floyd three-star Draeden Punt.
Each of the six top commits in the class hail from Kansas or Oklahoma. Manhattan (Kan.) four-star safety James Dunnigan Jr. checks in as the No. 173 recruit overall. A Kansas State legacy, Dunnigan spurned the hometown school and is set to play for the cross-state rival at the next level.

“It came down to a battle between K-State and KU,” Dunnigan told On3. “K-State is the hometown school and where my father played at it, but KU came in, rolled the red carpet out, showed us their plan and the Jayhawks just nudged K-State with Nebraska a great school being third.”
Salina (Kan.) On300 interior offensive lineman Kaden Snyder committed at the end of January, around three weeks after Dunnigan. Galbreath, Higgins, Edmond (Okla.) Santa Fe three-star defensive lineman Landen Anderson, Denton (Texas) Guyer three-star wide receiver Corbin Glasco and three others also committed to the Big 12 team in January.
Other top commits in the class include: Broken Arrow (Okla.) three-star offensive tackle Kaden Moody, Platte City (Mo.) Platte County three-star tight end Jack Utz, Topeka (Kan.) Shawnee Heights three-star WR Tyren Parker, Carson (Calif.) Tustin three-star cornerback Lennie Brown and Westfield (Ind.) three-star OT Malachi Mills.
The class ranks No. 26 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. That’s good for No. 2 in the Big 12, behind only Arizona State.
