The Week Four slate of games in college football featured more shocking results and big performances. The weekend contained high profile matchups between Arkansas-Texas A&M, Notre Dame-Wisconsin, and many more. After the weekend’s action, ESPN and College GameDay analyst Kirk Herbstreit picked his nine top performing teams of Week Four.

Saturday’s results also caused some shakeups in the latest bowl projections. With Clemson trending down, the three ACC teams on Kirk Herbstreit’s Week Four list of top performing teams see a path to the ACC crown.

Here is a closer look at Kirk Herbstreit’s top performing teams from Week Four.

Top performing teams from Week 4

NC State: The Wolfpack pulled off the upset of the weekend, handing Clemson its second loss of the season and taking the early lead in the ACC standings. With the door now open, NC State will look to build on the momentum of its 3-1 record following a double overtime win.

Bowling Green: Bowling Green offered another candidate for upset of the week, pulling off a 14-10 road win over Minnesota. The defense stymied the opponent to help give the Falcons an edge in the second half.

Arkansas: The Razorbacks continue to impress against ranked opponents with a win over Texas A&M in AT&T Stadium. With two big wins against rival teams, Arkansas has put itself into the conversation as a top 10 team in the country with its rushing attack and stout defense.

Oregon State: The Beavers blew out a struggling USC team in Los Angeles to start the Pac-12 schedule with a win. Now 3-1, Oregon State looks to have its best team under coach Jonathan Smith with a shot at bowl season.

SMU: The Mustangs took the 100th meeting over TCU with a big performance on the ground and clutch plays from Oklahoma transfer quarterback Tanner Mordecai. The win over a Power Five opponent makes them a contender in the American with an early 4-0 record.

Baylor: The Bears have been the surprise team in the Big 12, moving to 4-0 with a win over No. 14 Iowa State. A kick return touchdown made the difference as Baylor pulled off a major upset against their Big 12 rivals.

Georgia Tech: The Yellow Jackets dominated a top 25 opponent with their 45-22 win over North Carolina. While the Tar Heels have disappointed early, the scoring outburst from Georgia Tech lands them on the list.

Boston College: The Eagles went to overtime and beat Missouri in a non-conference clash on Saturday. With a 4-0 record early, Boston College looks to be one of the top contenders in the ACC.

UTSA: The Roadrunners went on the road to beat Memphis, one of the most consistent teams in the American. After falling behind early, UTSA rallied to move to 4-0 on a game-winning field goal.
