Kota Suttle is a 6-foot-2 point guard at Marietta (GA) Wheeler High School. After making a name for himself this summer on the Adidas 3SSB 16u Circuit with the Atlanta Celtics, Suttle has caught the eyes of coaches this high school season.

“I’m a do-it-all player,” Suttle told On3. “I do whatever the team needs. I can score it, shoot the ball, I distribute it to my teammates, and rebound. Whatever it takes to win. This season I’ve shot the ball consistently, that’s a lot of what I’ve been working on to make sure I’ve got no holes in my game.”

On3 caught up with Kota Suttle recently to talk about his game and his recruitment.

“Right now, I have offers from schools like Georgia, Ole Miss, Cincinnati, and George Mason, to name a few,” Suttle said.

Suttle Talks Offers

Georgia: “My sister played soccer for them. They’re the in-state schools, so everyone grew up wanting to play for the Dogs. It’s still early in my recruitment, but I’m liking what I’m hearing from them, and their program is definitely on the come up.”

Cincinnati: “I really like the coaches up there. They have a real family vibe. I got to talk to them a lot while they were recruiting my former teammate, Isaiah Collier. They have a good program up there, and I like what they got up there.”

Ole Miss: “They got new coaches in there that I really like. They’re a program on the come up. They’re shocking a lot of people and winning a lot of games. I’ve watched a couple of games, and I like how they play their guards. They let them get out in transition and make plays.”

“We’re hearing from schools like Auburn and Georgia Tech, and a few others,” Suttle said.

On playing with Isaiah Collier

Kota Suttle spent his freshman season playing with former McDonald’s All-American and top-five recruit Isaiah Collier, whom he learned a lot from.

“That was huge for my overall development,” Suttle said. “He was a big reason why I came to Wheeler, to learn from one of the top players in the country. We still talk with one another, talking about his reads and seeing his work ethic. It will all help me at the end of the day.”

Suttle updates his recruitment

“I want to go somewhere that has a rich winning history,” Suttle said. “Somewhere I can go and make an early impact, and win games, and develop me to get to the next, next level.

“I’m comfortable playing on the ball and off the ball, and at this point, coaches will be moving around, so I’ll look at style of play later.”
